Northshore – ‘For What It’s Worth (EP)’ (Self-Released)

This five-piece from the north east of England have been gaining attention for themselves since their formation in 2017. Comprised of members of other projects, Northshore set about making a name for themselves with their debut EP ‘Alternative Futures’. Extensive UK touring followed the release and support slots with numerous other acts helped the band gain traction amongst live audiences. Their next release was single ‘Father’ featuring accompanying video. The video earned Northshore more online follows and the buzz around them led to further touring with the likes of Mallory Knox as well as solo shows. Now 2019 sees another EP release in the form of six track ‘For What It’s Worth’, with the band now looking to sharpen their sound, what can the listener expect?

Endless Floods – ‘Circle The Gold’ (FVTV/Bigout)

Ambient drone is something our resident DJ has quite the penchant for, so he was quite pleased to receive a poke about the latest Endless Floods offering, ‘Circle The Gold’. Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard –‘Yn Ol I Annwn’ (New Heavy Sounds)

Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard have always been something of an ethereal beast. Existing on the outer-edges of modern doom’s experimental, drowning-in-atmosphere sonics, the band offered a sense of overwhelming emotion which threatened to drown listeners with each crashing wave. Returning with ‘Yn Ol I Annwn’ (Welsh for ‘Return To The Underworld’), the band are reaching out further than ever before – with one crucial twist. As opposed to going deeper into the mire of doom atmospherics – as so many of their peers have – MWWB have cast their eyes to the heavens, going intergalactic with the introduction of moog synthesisers and cosmic soundscapes to push their boundaries further than ever before.
