John B would like to start by painting a picture for you. He opens his latest email from ÜRHQ and sees that he has a new album that has been sent to him for review. He takes a look at the subject line and sees that it is a band that he has never heard of. Awesome! He loves to hear new bands he did not know about before. He keeps reading and sees that the album is called ‘Hatred’. Okay, so probably something pretty heavy. Sounds good to him. He opens the email and where there is usually a paragraph or two about the album to give you an idea about what to expect or some backstory about the making of the album this time there is just one sentence and all it said was, “four intense tracks, filled with the purest hate you’ll ever hear!” What on Earth has he gotten myself into?

We have all heard someone, at some point, tell us that metal requires no talent or it is just someone screaming into a microphone. Usually, those are the same people who listen to auto-tuned artists that think C, G and F are the only chords you need. John B doesn’t really want to downplay any person’s individual taste as what music you like is a very personal thing and people are absolutely allowed to not like the same thing someone else does. That being said, there are some things that are objectively beautiful. Some things that even if you are not a huge fan yourself you still have to sit back and admit the beauty in it. Things like Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony or a sunset over the ocean or a perfectly bloomed rose. For those people that say metal has no talent, our man thinks we should show them this album because even if they still are not a fan of metal after they will have to acknowledge that it is beautiful…
