Let’s face it, 2020 has been just a little bit shit with everyone having their lives severely disrupted, especially within the music industry. One of the bands that must be really feeling robbed by the whole situation is Jinjer for whom 2019 was a massive year where their hype train was gaining some serious momentum on the back of their latest album ‘Macro’. Whatever expectations you have in your head for this, it is probably not what you think. ‘Angels Don’t Sleep’ has most of the elements that John B loves and really look for in an album. There are some folk elements. There is some experimentation with other sounds and effects. They even have contrasting tones between electric and acoustic guitars. It is almost like this album was written in many ways to cater directly to my tastes but with all that being said JB found himself a little bored at times. That is not to say that he disliked the album by any means – just that there is something missing….
