Ireland may well be known as the Emerald Isle, but for the past week it has been transformed into a desertscape, as three of the best-known figures in the stoner rock movement have been traversing their way up and down the island as part of their debut visit to this here corner of the Überverse. Monuments/Kill The Lights – Manchester, Academy 3 – 22 April 2022

Jase W doesn’t think it’s possible to overstate just how much he adores Monuments, straight from their debut of ‘Gnosis’ right through to their outstanding latest release of ‘In Stasis’. The band was on a co-headlining run with Mammoth WVH on the Young Guns tour but due to unforeseen circumstances Mammoth WVH had to cancel which was a disappointment for many but also offered a great opportunity to really check out Dirty Honey. This was definitely not my first foray into the cool ‘70s vibe that the band brings, and Kris E was eager for the evening to begin.
