The Stranglers/Dr Feelgood – Belfast, Ulster Hall – 28 February 2019

Two iconic bands and one iconic venue. It had been just shy of 11 months since The Stranglers had last graced the stage of the Grand Dame of Bedford Street (and itself their second visit to Belfast in a little more than six months), and here they were again, kicking off the latest tour, on which they aim to prove that they are most definitely ‘Back On The Tracks’.

HRH METAL – BIRMINGHAM, 02 ACADEMY – 17 February 2019

Our very own Mistress Of The Moonlight took herself off to Birmingham the other weekend for the Sunday of HRH Metal, where metalheads from across Europe and beyond had congregated for this marvellous event. They played there a few times after that, but it must be a very long time indeed since they’ve headlined this venue, so it’s a welcome return tonight, and a clear sign that after all these years the BÖC’s popularity is on the up yet again.

Stone Broken/Those Damn Crows/Everyday Heroes – Cardiff, The Globe – 24 February 2019

When David O’Neill found out Stone Broken were playing the Globe on their homecoming tour, he had to get tickets.  Then to find out that the support bands were Those Damn Crows and Everyday Heroes he was glad he did.  All three bands have impressed him every time he’s seen them over the past few years and they’re all on the way to superstardom in his opinion.  There is a place in the current music scene at a very high level for three bands who play solid unassuming pop rock whatever the style and these three do it in spades from different styles.
