However, guitarist Mark Morton’s debut solo album, with star studded guests, somehow passed us by, so to catch him playing some of it live, acoustically, and to grab a chat with him about it and new EP ‘Ether’ was not an opportunity to pass up. The Krueggers – ‘Hysterical Cold Side & Dark Memories’ (Eclipse Records)

John B hopes that you are ready for a trip back to the ‘90s because there is no question where the influence came for this album. ‘Hysterical Cold Side & Dark Memories’ would be perfectly at home being released back then next to albums by Nirvana or Korn. As well as having some hints of an older influence mixed in there. Perhaps a little bit of stoner or ‘’60s rock thrown in for good measure. It all comes together very well into a very honest album that comes from a place of passion.

Brothers of Metal – ‘Emblas Saga’ (AFM Records)

Brothers of Metal are one of those bands who cropped up on Jonny B’s radar from an early start thanks, in part, to them hailing from Falun, Sweden. Some of you may notice that this is also the hometown of a little band called Sabaton who he’s pretty partial to… so it was through them that he had got some early exposure to the band on the Sabaton Cruise back in 2017, a few months after the release of their debut album ‘Prophecy of Ragnarok’. Nearly two years to the day after first seeing them live, Brothers of Metal cropped up again, this time in the form of being selected as our video of the week for their latest single ‘One’ – and this was more than enough to get the man from the land of the lakes excited about the impending release of the new album!
