Obey The Brave – ‘Balance’ (Impericon Records)

After hearing that Canadian five-piece Obey The Brave’s new album was to affirm them as a major heavyweight in the metalcore genre, our Jolee’s hopes were set high. ‘Balance’ is the guys’ fourth full length album to date, with it demonstrating the stylistic diversity and complexity they have to offer. In our youngest team member’s opinion, the album as a whole, except for one or two songs, screams Beartooth-esque vibes. For fans of Beartooth (of course), The Amity Affliction and The Ghost Inside.

Moonlight Haze – ‘De Rerum Natura’ (Scarlet Records)

Moonlight Haze’s debut album ‘De Rerum Natura’ has an impressive lineup both in the band itself and in the guests. You can definitely hear an influence from Chiara Tricarico’s time with Temperance as the sound here is similar to the things she was doing back then but more developed and evolved. ‘De Rerum Natura’ takes far more advantage of her vocal range and musically has a much more aggressive and passionate tone.
