A local show for not just local people, Liverpool up and comers Loathe were moved to the O2 Academy from their original venue due to demand – a good show of intent for the band! With listed support from three bands, it should be a long evening of good music. On arriving at the venue, our resident gigaholic discovered there was an issue with the fire doors, leaving a couple of hundred people stood waiting. An hour late, everyone wea finally get in, with the first support for the evening coming on very shortly after, though one of the bands don’t make an appearance, no doubt due to the delay.

If you’re feeling particularly bunged up right now and don’t fancy guzzling prune juice to resolve it, ‘Industrial Nightmare’ may well be the solution to your problems. This four track EP from Birmingham-based trio Voidlurker is doom of the most bowel-shaking variety. The grooves are slow, it’s monstrously heavy and the bass has been down-tuned so far that the strings are hanging slack. Play it through headphones and your entire body vibrates, so if you ate a ten-ounce ribeye steak four days ago and still haven’t seen it emerge, this’ll be just the thing.
