Chosen by Monk

The Uber Rock Approved stampMy latest hot off the presses selection comes from an artist who has established a reputation as one of the singular most talented and in demand drummers in metal, through his work with the likes of Black Label Society, In This Moment, Sixx A.M. and Filter. However, Jeff Fabb is also a prolific multi-instrumentalist and prodigious songwriter in his own right, as he proved when he released his debut solo album, ‘Stealing Souls’, last November.

The latest single to be lifted from the album is the surprisingly upbeat and melodic (given its lyrical subject) ‘See No Evil’, which features long-time friend and past ITM band mate Blake Bunzel on guitar, mixing, and producing duties. The song speaks to the nature of embracing uncertainty, with lyrics like “Imagination, my mind’s creation, realization when life’s hell on Earth/There is no glory, as I tell the story, I need to let it go.”

Fabb explained a little further:

[The title] ‘See No Evil’ means sometimes it can feel like no one wants to help you, everyone is passing you by. It feels like you’ll never finish what you’ve started…, but sometimes slow and steady will get you where you wanna be.
