These Finnish hard rockers are loudly and defiantly proclaiming a motto which we at ÜRHQ ourselves have been propounding, equally loudly and defiantly – and, in fact, is the very bedrock of our ethos and existence – for nigh on the past two decades:

Speaking about the song – the second to be released from their upcoming second album, which will see the quartet #DressedInFlesh when it hits our deathdecks in September, drummer Jani ‘Serpico’ Järvelin told me:

The phrase “rock n’ roll is not dead” has always been close to my heart and plays such a big part in my life and in our band that I decided to write a song about it as soon as inspiration struck. It took a few years, but I believe the time is ripe right now because today’s rock n’ roll is basically missing exactly what I have always admired in rock n’ roll music: originality and authenticity.

The idea for the song is actually based on the fact that at some point a large part of people in the music media were shouting that “Rock is dead” and blah blah… That is absolutely not true, rock n’ roll is alive and doing well. I hope commercial radio stations and other mainstream media would wake up to this as well.
