Chosen by Monk
Our latest audio-visual selection sees our chosen artist unleashing the ‘F.I.L.T.H.’ – quite literally, as the artist also known as Lyndsey Gunnulfsen embarks on a new sonic journey.
Her latest project can best be described as a “collaborative mixtape” and saw Gunnulfsen working with all female, non-binary, and queer personnel, including engineers, producers and featured artists, including electro/synth pop illuminator LIGHTS, self-styled “fetish rapper” Tommy Genesis, Chinese DJ and performance artist Alice Longyu-Gao, death-obssessed alt-popster Mothica, electroclash rapper/DJ Uffie and alt-punk riot grrl Sizzy Rocket, the latter of whom both feature on this, the EP’s title track:
Gunnulfsen says of the project:
‘F.I.L.T.H.’ is a self-produced collaborative music project between friends and past tour-mates.
I wanted to make a small project where some other female/non-binary artists could hop into the world of PVRIS and vice-versa, have as much control over the lyrics and music as they wanted and simply just have fun making some music together! Everyone had free rein to write what they wanted and add their own voice (figuratively and literally) to each track.
All songs were created, mixed, mastered by women/non-binary friends and all were written and produced at home in my apartment and then completed on the road while on tour. Wish there was more time to make even more… hoping to [do] more projects like this in the future!
