The Uber Rock Approved stampF*CK. WE’RE BROKEN. Well, almost. Yes, it’s been one helluva month here at ÜRHQ, what with it managing to cram in five weekends… yes, you read that right: FIVE BIG MASSIVE MUTHAFUCKIN’ ROCKIN’ ‘N’ ROLLIN’ WEEKENDS! In one month. HELL, it should be more than the body can take… or should be allowed to take… but, hey, we’re rock ‘n’ roll to the core and it takes no excuse for us to fire up the deathdecks, turn the amps up to maximum, mix up a few of our favourite cocktails and set some of the hottest sounds around a spinnin’ for your delectation and enjoyment. So, in the immortal words of da bruvas – hey, ho, let’s go…

Bank Myna ‘The Other Faceless Me’ (Medication Times Records/Araki Records/Stellar Frequencies)

The Parisian post-rock/dark folk quartet deliver a soul-stirring second excerpt from their forthcoming new album, which is set to take us deep into the realm of ‘Eimuria’ at the end of next month:

Barrens ‘Periastron’ (Pelagic Records)

The Swedish dark post-rock trio serve up an early taster with what they describe as the centrepoint of their second album, due for release in September:

Believe In Nothing ‘What Would You Do?’ (Church Road Records)

The Eastbourne sludge/noise four-piece stake their claim with this debut release:

Conan ‘Warpsword’ (Heavy Psych Sounds)

The new look three-headed Liverpudlian beast once again lays down the claim to be the heaviest, sludgiest band in the Überverse with this crushing third release from their upcoming sixth album, which will take us into the ‘Violence Dimension‘ in just under a month’s time:

Curbside ‘Black & Grey’ (Thousand Islands Records)

Will 13 prove to be the lucky number for these Canadian skatepunk veterans? Well, that’s how many years it’s been since we last heard from them, so we’ll have to wait and see when their first album since 2012 drops later in the Spring:

Dez Dare ‘Talk, Clown’ (God Unknown Records)

The one-man garage rockin’ power poppin’ glunk ‘n’ roll machine by the name of Darren Smallman presents the second single from his upcoming fifth album, the wonderfully titled ‘CHERYL! Your Love Shines Down Like A Supernova’s Death‘, which is due for release at the beginning of June:

Dropsonic ‘Honeytrap’ (Spartan Records)

The Atlanta dark groovers have teamed up with Alice In Chains frontman William DuVall to break their 15-year silence, which will be followed by a full-length, self-titled album in May:

Dumb Posh Hippies ‘Parasitus Socialitus’ (Self-Released)

The psych-influenced Irish punk trio are at their heaviest and most hardcore as they deliver, in their own words, “a hate to the parasitic scenesters from past lives”:

Floral Image ‘Howling Dog Song’ (Fuzz Club Records)

The Norwich psychedelics tackle the issue of what they call “petro-capitalism” on this latest cut to be extracted from their forthcoming ‘Gone Down Meadowland’ album, due for release April

House Of Protection ‘Fire’ (Red Bull Records)

Perhaps best known for their various collaborations, especially with the likes of Architects, the electrocore duo ignite an energetic flame with this taster of their upcoming second EP, due at the end of May:

Hyena ‘The Eternal Zero’ (Dying Victims Productions)

The Peruvian trad metallers channel their inner Maiden with this second bombardment from their upcoming debut album, on which they will be declaring that it’s all ‘About Rock And Roll’ next month:

JudoCHOP! ‘Stranded’ (People Of Punk Rock)

The Melbourne melodic hardcore thrashers made a #Fearless return after four years of studio silence earlier this month, and now keep the momentum going with this second sample of their upcoming sophomore EP:

Moonlight Haze ‘Tame The Storm’ (Scarlet Records)

The Italian operatic metallers will be taking us to a place ‘Beyond’ when they release their fourth album at the end of May:

Noumenia ‘The Circle’ (Eclipse Records)

The Italian post groovers reveal the first single from their upcoming second album, which will see them sounding ‘Echoes‘ when it is released at the end of June:

The Damn Truth ‘All Night Long’ (Self-Released)

One of the large number of classic rock revivalist bands who have crossed the Atlantic from Canada on a veritable sonic tsunami, they certainly have us partying like the title of this latest offering from their self-titled new album, the release of which will be followed by yet another tour later in the year:

The Manic Standstill ‘Reasons Why’ (Wiretap/Double Helix Records)

Collaboration is definitely the name of the game for this LA pop-rock trio, as their upcoming new album features members of The Dollyrots, The Aquabats, Teenage Bottlerockets, The Screamers and many more, with this sampler featuring the guys and gals from Go Betty Go and Prima Donna:

The Molotovs ‘More More More’ (Marshall Records)

The first ever single from the young London sibling punk duo, who both still in their teens but already are preparing to follow in the footsteps of genre legends such as The Sex Pistols, for whom they opened at the Royal Albert Hall this past week, and The Jam.

Tooth Gore ‘Firebird’ (Self-Released)

Although sounding like a monicker for an eastern European grindcore act, this is actually a one-man surf-punk project from (appropriately enough) Newquay by the name of Kobi Joe and this is the latest trailer for his upcoming second album, due at the beginning of June:

Wednesday 13 ‘In Misery’ (Napalm Records)

Halloween may still be a full seven months away, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be celebrated all year round, and among those who love to do so is the goth rock icon, who is preparing to mark his own ‘Mid Death Crisis’ with the release of his tenth album at the end of next month:

When Rivers Meet ‘Break Free’ (One Road Records)

The husband-and-wife duo serve up another sample of their upcoming fourth album, due for release on 23 May to coincide with a short run of four headline dates bracketed around a support slot with Blue Öyster Cult:

Witchcraft ‘Drömmar Av Is’ (Heavy Psych Sounds)

The Swedish one-man occult doom project rounds off this week’s selection with the second chapter to be shared from his upcoming seventh album, being released on 23 May:

So, there you have it, our latest dynamic and eclectic selection, rounding off what has quite possibly been a record-breaking month for the Club in terms of the sheer volume of new releases we have featured and profiled: if we’ve got our maths right, it’s in excess of 150 tunes! Hopefully, we’ve once again opened your ears to some new sounds, and pointed you in the direction of some fine tuneage to kick your new rock ‘n’ roll week off in style… Until next week, remember: keep ‘er lit, keep ‘er between the hedges and keep on Über Rockin’ in the free world \m/
