Chosen by Monk
My latest choice sees a double hit for Northern Ireland bands this weekend, as it comes from a band who came out of my left field vision when they took everyone by surprise and (deservedly) barnstormed their way to the final of this year’s local Bloodstock Metal 2 The Masses competition.
Over the course of their three performances they did indeed weave a rich musical tapestry, switching from funk-infused nu-metal grooves to classic rock melodiousness with graceful ease – and even attracting a few stage divers and crowd surfers along the way!
This new single sees them displaying the funkier end of their sound, exemplifying the diversity of influences they meld and mould together into a sound that is refreshingly vital and dynamic, with nods to Peter Gabriel, Talking Heads and the Chili Peppers in its infectious alt-pop groove:
