Artwork for Sex With Dead Body by ShitfuckerOnce one of the metal underground’s best-kept secrets, Detroit scum-crew Shitfucker burst into the public’s consciousness with utter and unrelenting rudeness with their debut album ‘Suck Cocks in Hell’ in 2013 courtesy of those fine purveyors of filth at Hells Headbangers. Prolific before that album and prolific after, the power-trio kept apace with salacious split recordings with the likes of Bonehunter, Japan’s Abigail, and the mighty Midnight. It’s been a long wait, but the band’s second album, ‘Sex With Dead Body’, is finally here, spewing a mixture of black thrash and toxic hardcore punk, pumped full of bile, disease, degradation, and devil worship over 40 furious and filthy minutes.

Sandwiched between the eerie intro and outro of ‘Naked Came The Strangler’ are nine cuts of sonic savagery. The full pelt black thrash of ‘Stab The Head’ kicks it all off in huge fashion, with some great riffing within a relentless assault on the senses, as is the case with ‘Serial Killer’, and the metal assault continues down a slightly darker and evil route on the likes of ‘Divinating Death’ and ‘Touch Me I’ll Scream’.

Whilst the vocals are mostly embedded in the black metal tradition, Shitfucker do have more of a hardcore punk vibe in their sound than some of their Scandinavian blackened thrash counterparts, with that punk snarl evident in the slightly slower ‘Ricky’s Dead’ as well as ‘Splatter Master’ and the excellent ‘Skitzoid’, which both rage at breakneck speed. Most curious and perhaps the odd one out is the slightly tongue-in-cheek ‘Leather Lady Lover’ which, like ‘Sex With Dead Bodies’, has an affinity with Midnight, and bizarrely has a chorus that could have come from the earlier years of the Udo-fronted Accept.

  • Not to be taken entirely seriously, ‘Sex With Dead Body’ is furious, filthy and fun.
