Artwork for 'Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity by Mors Principium EstMelodeath fans rejoice! Mors Principium Est has gone back to the future with their latest release ‘Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity’ now available via AFM Records.  Unlike their last album , 2020’s ‘Seven,’  which was recorded by only singer Ville Viljanen with British songwriter Andy Gillion playing all the instruments, the new record is a reunion of sorts.  The band has come full circle with a return to their roots and welcoming back to the fold original guitar players and co-founders Jori Haukio and Jarko Kokkoo  along with bass player Teemu Heinola, but also moving forward and keeping  their focus on the future with the addition of new drummer Marko Tommilo.

To mark this momentous occasion, the band has selected tracks from the first three albums, ‘Inhumanity,’ ‘The Unborn,’ and ‘Liberation=Termination’ as well as the second demo ‘Valley of Sacrifice’ for a unique offering.  The whole creation was recorded, mixed and mastered to complete the package.

Now with over 20 years in the game, Mors Principium Est can easily give a master class in melodic death metal accompanied by their distinctive Finnish touches.   Their songwriting is unsurpassed with complex structures, glorious instrumentals, and definitive melodies, all centered around the harsh vocal gutturals of Viljanen.  From the simple power of the opening track ‘Cleansing Rain’ to the orchestral majesty of ‘Valley of Sacrifice, Part 1,’ Mors Principium Est is at the top of their game.

‘Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity’ is a statement piece, a reflection of who they are and what direction they are moving in. It’s a real showcase of everything Mors Principium Est can do and is simply beyond compare.  Now that the band is back on their melodious, metal path, I can’t wait to see what the future brings.
