Artwork for Madness Comes by Grand CadaverMost of us in life know someone who is an expert in whatever their field is. Someone who knows what they are doing so well and can do it so effortlessly that they manage to make what is normal into something impressive. I have known mechanics that turn working on a car into an art form without meaning to just by being good at what they do. Listening to this EP, I get that feeling. Everything is in order. Nothing is out of place and it all comes together expertly. Perfectly executed by absolute professionals.

To continue with my analogy, there is nothing revolutionary about changing a tire but there can be worlds of difference in how well you pull it off. Is it your first time and you are fumbling around looking for tools or are you the fastest pit crew at the track. There is nothing revolutionary about the vocal style here. It is classic death metal but the execution is perfect. We have that signature growl that is a staple of the genre with really well-done layering. I’m not sure if it is two vocalists or just one in post but it is well done and adds a lot of depth.

Musically my comments are much the same. It is classic death metal but performed in a way that manages to stand out above so many others in the genre. Not because there is anything all that new but because there is this degree of polish you get from true professionals. There is a nice evolution throughout each track never letting things get too repetitive. A great example of the genre.

If you can’t tell by now, I loved this EP. Go get yourself a copy. Every track will make it into any death metal playlist I make in the future and honestly would feel incomplete without it now. You owe it to yourself to give this one a listen. You will not regret it.
