Here it is once again folks: one of the most interesting progressive metal festivals in the whole continent is back and they’ve managed to steal the show again with an unreal first announcement that’s seen some of the most in-demand bands in the scene take centre stage as well as the return of some less expected ones.
The first headliner announced for the weekend is Northlane, Australia’s premier metalcore/rave fusion band who’ve been itching to get back to the ÜK and Europe after supporting Sleep Token on their tour last year.
Other prominent names include Unprocessed, as Thursday headliners, and Novelists added hot off the back of their respective most recent tours and making waves with their latest releases.
But two names that really stood out to me more than the rest were Mnemic and Kardashev – both of these due in part to the fact that (I’m fairly sure) they haven’t played live for about a decade, give or take a year or so: these sets are going to be really special returns for both bands.
On the whole, though, a pretty stellar first release and no doubt it’ll build more and more that with the possibility of myself looking at a run through Radar, ATG and finally Euroblast, it’s going to be an incredible year for progressive music.
- Euroblast takes place over the weekend of October 3 – 5 at Essigfabrik, Cologne.
