Having formed in 2010, Canada’s Devilz by Definition have reshaped and regrown numerous times over the years. Despite a revolving door of musicians and an instrumental line-up change, they have consistently created and put forth catchy and engaging groove led metal that has captivated their local scene and wherever they have had the opportunity to play. Over the last decade, they have delivered two other EPs and a full-length album with each recording having received critical acclaim for both their song writing and energetic delivery. There are very few musicians who can make a guitar sound like much, much more than a collection of bits of electronic circuitry welded to a couple of pieces of wood, but rather like a sonic extension of their own hearts and souls, and to make the instrument sing accordingly. Now, call Monk biased, as they were born within a few miles of each other, one on the east side of Belfast, the other on the south, but Gary Moore was one of that select group of such craftsmen – and, as this collection of previously unreleased songs from his no-doubt largely still hidden archive demonstrates, his ability to make his instrument sing and give praise still echoes strongly, just over a decade after his untimely death.
