Our latest audio-visual delight is the latest instalment in the epic sci-fi tale being related by multi-national metalcore exponents Calva Louise, who are truly getting under our skin with their first release via new label, Mascot Records.

The video is the latest in a series which form part of a larger science-fiction project that guides the ‘lore behind Calva Louise’s overall concept, telling a story about parallel dimensions where the characters are looking to perpetuate their consciousness beyond the real world, a duality which addresses the existence of two sides within the human experience: the avatars or “travellers” fighting like ‘Third Class Citizen‘ to reach the energetic source of their willpower: the “doubles”.

In this story, there are foreign entities, “the hybrids” (half organic and half machines), who steal life energy from both the travellers and the doubles. Their ‘Feast Is Over‘ when the stolen energy is retrieved and attached to weapon-like tools that they use (the hedron-bazookas). The hybrids have corrupted some doubles (‘Oportunista‘). The travellers’ aim is to reach their doubles with the help of the Commanders (‘Square One’). The Commanders have been working for decades to unify both sides ‘Over The Threshold’ of duality.

Frontman Jess Allanic, who co-wrote the song with Pendulum’s Gareth McGrillen, told us a bit about the inspiration and story behind the song:

The lyrics deal with the obstacles that arise between them as one is looking for freedom and the other is looking to perpetuate their consciousness, but the expectations are not the same for both sides.
