Curated by Monk
It’s been another busy week here at ÜRHQ and what better way to unwind than by once again throwing open the doors of the Uber Kingdom’s most exclusive club and sharing another playlist of the hottest tunes to have burning up both our deathdecks and our eardrums in recent days? Well, we can’t think of one, so let’s dive straight in, turn the volume up to neighbour annoying volumes and crack open a few of our favourite beverages, shall we? Well, OK, if you insist…
Around 7 ‘Secrets’ (SODEH Records)
The Dundee alt-punk trio are spilling the beans on their new line-up with this first release since parting ways with their long-term drummer at the end of last year:
Black Honey Cult ‘Dead In Me’ (Heavy Psych Sounds)
The LA-based dark-psych/post-punk quintet may be about to release their debut album, of which this is the second sample, but they possess an impeccable pedigree, with three of them also being members of The Lords Of Altamont:

The title track of the upcoming fourth album, and the first in eight years, from the Arizona doomsters, due for release mid-June:
Heart Attack Man ‘The Gallows’ (Self-Released)
The Cleveland punk trio are preparing to ‘Joyride The Pale Horse’ with the release of their fourth album next month, but in the meantime they aren’t hanging around (sic) to offer up another taste of what to expect:

The first taster of the upcoming new EP from the London hardcore quartet:
Himalayas ‘Surrender’ (Nettwerk Music Group)
We have been giving in to the charms of these Cardiff alt-rockers for quite some time, and no doubt will continue to do so when they release their new album in at the end of next month.
Joanne Shaw Taylor ‘What Are You Gonna Do Now?’ (Journeyman Records)
The latest cut to be extracted from the blues-rock guitarist’s upcoming new album, which will see her painting musical pictures in shades of ‘Black & Gold’ when it is released at the beginning of June:

The Canadian alt-rockers are preparing to indulge in a heady dose of ‘Nostalgia’ with the release of their tenth album at the beginning of June:

Show Me Your Universe ‘Queen Spirit’ (Self-Released)
The grunge-inflected French alt-rockers are preparing to release their new EP, of which this is the title track:
South Arcade ‘Supermodels’ (BKM Artists/LAB Records)
Coming off the back of their biggest ever sold out headline shows, and ahead of their upcoming support run with pop-punk sensation Bilmuri, the pop-rock quartet continue to show why they are making such massive sonic waves at the moment:
Supersonic Deuces ‘Dead & Gone’ (Screaming Crow Records)
The Italian proto-punk-meets-action-rockers serve up the second course from their debut album, which is being released at the end of this week:

Tigerleech ‘Hari-kiri Of The Capitalist Model By Its Own Users’ (Octopus Rising/Argonauta Records)
The French sludge/hardcore metallers have by far the best song title of this week’s playlist, with this second taster of their upcoming new album:
Von Loop ‘Dix In The Air’ (SODEH Records)
The Northern Ireland alt rockers deliver what they describe as “a fun, silly song” with a beautiful double entendre of both a title and a message:
