Curated by Monk

It’s been a busy start to the year here at the refurbished Singles Club, with our new PA system being pushed to the limits by our new daily opening schedule. In fact, so popular has our new #DailyPick feature become in such a short time that, after a high level management meeting involving, well, just me making an executive decision, we’ve decided to return to fortnightly opening in order to catch up with the vast array of hot new sounds doing the rounds and gracing our playlists…

So, let’s dive straight in shall we, with our selection of the other tunes that have stood out to us over the past two weeks:

Belmont – ‘Liminal’

The title track of the forthcoming third album from the Boston bouncers, being released on 12 April via Pure Noise Records:

Eidola – ‘No Weapon Formed Shall Prosper’

The enigmatic existentialists release their new album, ‘Eviscerate‘, via Blue Swan/Rise Records on 12 April:

Lavalove – ‘Guts’

Acoustic version of their previously released single from last year:

We Three Kings – ‘Gold Digger’

High-energy, no-nonsense, fuzzed-up rock ‘n’f’n’ roll marking the first of a series of releases the Manchester garage rock veterans have promised are coming our way this year. We look forward to hearing more…

Face The Legacy – ‘Straight Down To Hell’

The first taste of new music from the Finnish hard rockers takes us on a journey through loss and redemption:

Our Mirage – ‘Farewell’

The German post-hardcore quartet say goodbye to their debut album with a bolder, more intense musical approach:

Cherym – ‘Alpha Beta Sigma’

The Northern Ireland pop punks issue a vitriolic statement on the gender inequality and violence against women which still permeate Irish culture on this opening track from their long-awaited debut album ‘Take It Or Leave It‘, set for release on Friday (16 November) via Alcopop! Records:

ERRA – ‘Cure’

The title track of forthcoming sixth album from the progressive metalcore mob, due for release on 5 April through UNFD.

Gallus – ‘Wash Your Wounds’

Latest cut from the Scottish indie punks’ debut album, ‘We Don’t Like The People We’ve Become’, inspired by a real wound singer Barry Dolan suffered on his foot:

From Ashes To New – ‘Barely Breathing’

The alt-metal crue team up with Against The Current for this powerful and emotive blast of hip hop-infused industrial metalcore:

Bex Marshall – ‘I Can’t Look You In The Eye’

The Dollyrots – ‘Can’t Tell You Why’

Well, we can tell you why this is included – in fact, it should be pretty obvious – as it’s another catchy-as-fuck pop punk anthem from the Kelly Ogden-fronted power trio, and a damn fine taster for their just released ‘Night Owls‘ album:

The Goodies – ‘All The Love We Bring’

Not to be confused with the anarchic British comedy troupe of the Seventies, this San Diego reggae/ska/punk duo have just released their self-titled debut EP:

HARDY – ‘Rockstar’

Not to be confused with the inanely catchy Nickelback hit of the same name, Nashville’s HARDY kicks off the new year in style with his trademark blend of country, hip hop and metalcore – with the promise of plenty more to come as 2024 progresses:

Gab De La Vega – ‘Preaching To The Choir’

Returning to the club for a second successive edition, the Italian-born singer-songwriter returns to his punk storytelling roots with the third single to be issued in advance of the release of his upcoming new album, ‘Life Burns‘, which emerges via SBÄM Records on 1 March.

F.O.D. – ‘A Thousand Shots’

Taking inspiration from ’90s predecessors like Green Day, Descendents, Lagwagon, and Bad Religion, these Belgian punks are preparing to release their sixth album, the brilliantly titled ‘The Once A Virgin Club’, due out at the start of April.

Collateral – ‘Glass Sky’

Rounding off this playlist, these NWoCRers present us with the lead single off their second album, ‘Should’ve Known Better‘, which is due for release via Big Shot Records in May:
