Well, we’re certainly getting the new rock ‘n’f’n’ roll year off to a rip ‘n’f’n’ roaring start, aren’t we? We may be less than 48 hours into it but already our deathdecks are jumpin’ ‘n’f’n’ jivin’ with some hot new tunes, so it’s time to jump straight back into that shark-infested pool and wander down those dangerously ill-lit back alleys to share our choice of what has been tickling our eardrums the most over the past 24 hours…
Speaking to me over the trans-Atlantic telephone thingmajiggy, Nick Hade, frontman of these self-proclaimed ‘SlumlordsOfNewJersey, told me:
‘Drowning’ began as a simple riff and turned into this full-blown opus about being a fraud in the age of social media – fake photos, AI flexes, pretend lifestyles.
Everyone looks like they’re everywhere, doing everything, when really they’re alone in a one-bedroom apartment, drowning in bills and craving relevance.
