We are inhaling the #SmokeOfDoom as the Swedish sludge metallers with this second draw of breath from their about to be re-released debut album:
Vocalist/guitarist Marcus Kärregård told me a bit more about the song:
‘Smoke of Doom’ lands me in a different angle of life. Part “self-experienced”, part fiction.
This song drew me to the heavy addiction that many people have. Some parts you are at the top! Some parts you want to lock yourself in and never come out. There’s quite a lot of anxiety in ‘Smoke of Doom’; you want to be a good person but you also like various emotions/feelings sometimes, if you know what I mean. It gives you a worse starting point at certain moments in life.
“No more misery, will let you breathe/A world of smoke, but it is my grave”.
- ‘Osmium‘ will be re-released via ROAR on 20 May.
