The Uber Rock Approved stampLong-term ÜR stalwarts will know that this kick-ass, underground-championing website was born in the Welsh valleys, and, while we now may be based in the dirty back alleys of Belfast, we’ve always remained loyal to our roots by championing the best new up-and-coming acts from the land of our fathers (sic), which is why there was #NoFightingBack the temptation to profile this latest release delivered in the beautiful Cymryan tongue…

The latest single to be lifted from their just-released second album, ‘Y Dwylo Uwchben’ (‘The Hands Above’ in heathen English), ‘Dim Ymladd Nôl’ (‘No Fighting Back’) sees the Cardiff alt-rock sextet (whose name itself translates as ‘Long Sleeves’) deliver meaty swathe of densely layered guitar that has the band moving towards post-metal territory for the first time.

Commenting on the track, front man Steffan Dafydd says:

This song is about coming to terms with yourself in a world that often pushes you to conform or disconnect. There’s a tension between the desire to go with the flow and the inner pull to reflect, resist, or deviate—even if that feels foolish or painful. It deals with mental weight, personal growth, and the melancholy of realization.
