The Uber Rock Approved stampThe warmer weather seems finally to have decided to grace the shores of the Über KIngdom, but it’s nothing compared to the heat guaranteed to be generated by our latest playlist, which is always guaranteed to tickle your aural cortices – and sometimes beat them into bloodied, unrelenting submission – with the hottest sounds doing the rounds at the moment… so, without further ado, let’s fire up the deathdecks and get those tunes a ‘banging and a blastin’, shall we?  Well, OK; if you insist…

Brontide ‘Mineral’ (Self-Released)

We kick off on the comeback trail with a band who have just released their first new music in ten years, which sees them picking up where they left off with an emotive and dramatic return ahead of their appearance at next weekend’s ArcTanGent festival:

Kublai Khan TX ‘Supreme Ruler’ (Rise Records)

One of the first bands announced this very weekend for the 2025 iteration of Bloodstock, the uncompromising Texan metalcore monsters are preparing to unleash their new album, the beautifully appropriately titled ‘Exhibition Of Prowess‘, next month. This latest rager delivers on the promise that the aforesaid opus will be their most relentlessly compelling yet:

And So I Watch You From Afar ‘North Coast Megafauna’ (Pelagic Records)

An all-encompassing aural assault, a force as unstoppable and fiercely alive as the tide, the post-rock powerhouse prepare to celebrate their 20th anniversary with their seventh studio album, a headstrong exploration and heartfelt appreciation of, and tribute to, the two places the Northern Ireland collective call home: their beloved Portrush on the Irish North Coast and the region’s beating heart of Belfast,

Sun And Sail Club ‘Halycon’ (Heavy Psych Sounds)

Another band back after a lengthy hiatus – nine years in this case – this desert fuzz supergroup, made up of members of Fu Manchu, Kyuss, Fireball Ministry, Big Scenic Nowhere, The Adolescents and Mos Generator, prove they are no longer #Shipwrecked with this first taste of their upcoming third album:

Chubby And The Gang ‘There’s A Devil In The Jukebox’ (Flatspot Records)

The devil is not sitting on your shoulder whispering sweet temptations in your ear… rather, he’s taken up residence in your jukebox and is screaming his message loudly and defiantly, via this latest punk rock blitz from the artist known as Charlie Manning, the third single to be lifted from his upcoming ‘And Then There Was…’ full-lengther:

Seven Blood ‘House ≠ Home’

The German alt-rockers address a combination of cultural isolation, inclusion and urban decline in this emotional, cathartic but uplifting slice of metalcore born in the back streets of a ghost town but very much alive and vibrantly so. They tour with Future Palace in December.

South Arcade ‘How 2 Get Away With Murder’ (LAB Records)

The Noughties-influenced Oxford pop punks take influence from a binge-watching session of the TV drama ‘Dexter’ for their latest slice of Y2K nostalgia and aesthetic, released just ahead of their upcoming Leeds and Reading festival appearances and already sold out headline run in September/October.

All Hope Remains ‘Standing By’ (Disconnect Disconnect)

The Aussie melopunks drop another ‘banger drenched in pop hooks and rhythmic breakdowns, underpinned by a fierce punk rock ethic and once again delivered with plenty of gusto and enthusiasm, taken from their upcoming new album, due next month:

Arms & Hearts ‘Bottom Line’ (Thousand Islands Records)

This Manchester duo of Steven Millar and Sam Johnson may be trying to convince us that ‘The Future Is Not Bright‘ with their second album, but this in turn second single definitely asserts otherwise as the pair rail against the realization we spend the majority of our limited time on earth working jobs that generally do nothing to improve the human experience:

Los Saints ‘Hard’ (ENCI Records)

Our next triptych of tunes are thematically linked, albeit tenuously… let’s see how long it is before you make the connection. This Mexican-American trio from the sleepy Californian border town of Chula Vista (said to be the inspiration for SoA’s Charming), weave a vibrant tapestry of indie/alt-rock peppered with gauzy melodies, fuzzy guitars and dusty rhythmic grooves, as evinced by this latest cut from their just released new album:

No Wrong Numbers ‘Absence’ (Self-Released)

This Mexican experimental alt-funk (to use band leader/guitarist/vocalist/producer Manolo Osorio’s own description) project enlisted the services of prog metal innovator Kevin ‘Parallax’ Vora and TikTok “influencer” Alexia Chao to push their own already expanding generic boundaries even further before on this standalone offering:

Mexican Standoff ‘Bloody Summer’ (Rockshots Records)

Okay, have you got the link yet? If not, the name of this glunk rock trio – who actually hail from Italy – should finally see the penny dropping in best ‘Tipping Point’ style. This latest, appropriately titled taster from their equally brilliantly named ‘Raiders Of The Dutch Rudder‘ album – their first in six years – once again sees them amalgamate classic rock energy, metal aggression, and punk rebellion for a groovy musical experience:

The Silver Lines ‘Boy Watch Yourself’ (Self-Released)

These Birmingham alt-rockers deliver their personal take on the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle with this latest catchier than the ‘flu extract from the upcoming new EP, which is another release with a glorious title – ‘…And The Lord Don’t Think I Can Handle It‘, which comes out later in the year:

Tayne ‘Coherent’ (MNRK Heavy/Inside Job)

This London trio blend industrial noise, electronic samples, buzzsaw riffs and Lady Gaga-inspired art pop to great effect, as exemplified by this collaboration with Cage Fight’s Rachel Aspe:

Bearings ‘Make Your Way Back To Me’ (Pure Noise Records)

Presenting a manifesto for the state of pop punk today, this exploration of the trials and rewards of a long-distance relationship is one of three new songs featured on the forthcoming deluxe re-issue of the quartet’s ‘The Best Part About Being Human’ album:

Lost To Light ‘Confess’ (Self-Released)

This Derby metalcore mob celebrate their appearance at this weekend’s Bloodstock festival with this eviscerating, evocative and revelatory focus cut from their just released debut EP:

The Rattlebacks ‘Please Me’ (Self-Released)

Eviscerating and evocative are adjectives which can also be applied to this Layne Staley-inspired fireball of a ‘banger from these Brighton bruisers, who head out on the road for a short run of dates in support of Tailgunner in October:

Gwailo ‘Rock N Roll Seduction’ (Self-Released)

This slice of NWoCR retrospection has actually been kicking around ÜRHQ for a little while now, but they say good things come to those who wait (and even better ones who hustle while doing so), and you really can’t get much better than a coveted inclusion on our very select playlist… especially when it takes you on a stroll and a strut back through time to the heady days of the Strip (Sunset that is, you perverted bunch):

Vital Breath ‘Talk To Me’ (Self-Released)

We seem to have quite a few bands who have returned to action after extended periods of silence, and these French hybrid prog metallers are the latest, with their first new music in seven years, in turn the first taster of their third album, which will see them utter ‘Silent Screams’ at the end of October:

blacktoothed ‘Get Me Down’ (Arising Empire)

These German groovers certainly aren’t getting me down (or anyone else for that matter) with this incisive and infectious ‘banger, which seamlessly blends powerful riffs with an irresistible chorus, creating an intense energy that grabs hold and doesn’t let go, in the first taster of their new album, due early next year:

Born Broken ‘Am I Invisible’ (Self-Released)

We end this iteration of the Club with a heady dose of blackened death thrash to send you on your way with your heading simultaneously banging and spinning with a thousand thoughts as this Montreal four piece prove they are far from invisible with the powerful and provocative title track of their upcoming third album:

So, there you have it – another eclectic playlist to tickle your aural tastebuds and hopefully infect your memory cells sufficiently to make you find out a bit more about each of the acts… Until next time (well, at least until I choose my latest #DailyPick around about this time tomorrow), keep ‘er lit, keep ‘er between the hedges and keep on Über Rockin’ in the free world \m/ And don’t forget that you can stream all of our Singles Club playlists and selections on our YouTube channel \m/
