New Orleans sludge/doom crossover legends EyeHateGod released their latest album, the UR-approved ‘A History Of Nomadic Behavior’, earlier this month.

Subsequently, I took the opportunity to grab a chat with frontman and lyricist Mike IX Williams to chat about the album and its creation against the backdrop of a global pandemic – and what turns out to be its rather prophetic title.

We also chatted about a variety of other issues, including the band’s lucky escape from the Ukraine at the beginning of the Covid crisis, his thoughts on when any form of “normal” live shows might return, why EHG have shied away from livestreaming – and his love of bureaucracy and paperwork! He also reveals that, for a band notorious for the infrequency of their output, they’ve already started writing their next album!
