Halflives – Amsterdam, Melkweg – 24 April 2025

It’s amazing how spotting a cool looking band logo on your mate’s suitcase at the airport can lead you to finding a pretty good band randomly. In this case it was Halflives. Admittedly Jase W has found bands through weirder circumstances but in this case, he found a fun, bouncy pop rock band from Italy that immediately hooked him.

Aborted/Crypta/The Zenith Passage/Organectomy – Haarlem, Patronaat – 25 April 2025

So, for clarity for those who don’t know, tonight was “King’s Night” in Dutchyland and this spells the first part of a day of country-wide mania where everyone wears orange, gets hammered and possibly falls into a canal. Jase W as not doing any of that shit tonight though as he was wearing black and going to see four bands with equally unreadable logos, so you just know it’s going to be a heavy one.

Skypilot/Solothurn – Belfast, Voodoo – 19 April 2025

Riffology. The study of the riff. For students of this most masterful of subjects, tonight promised to be a masterclass, with guaranteed honours degrees awarded to all of those fit and able enough to survive this intense cramming session. So, Class of ’25, sharpen your pencils and pay close attention – especially you lot down the back – as the school bell has rung out very loudly and your presence is mandatory…

King Kraken/Molly Karloff/Tattoo Molly – Swansea, Hangar 18 – 19 April 2025

From the moment David O entered Hangar 18, it was clear this was no ordinary album launch. The venue, festooned with blue and yellow balloons twisted into the likeness of krakens, set a playful yet electric tone. Fans, many in King Kraken shirts, buzzed with anticipation, snapping photos of the elaborate decorations and chatting about the band’s growing reputation after high-profile festival appearances and a relentless ÜK touring schedule.

DeWolff/Silveroller – Bristol, The Fleece – 16 April 2025

Another trip for David O to another of the grassroots venues we feature regularly at Über Rock, The Fleece in Bristol. Dave was surprised by the lack of a queue on arrival as this venue is usually well supported; however, he was rather glad as it got him closer to the front for photography. He was even more surprised to find that Silveroller were on the same bill, having only seen them for the first time the previous week.

Boundaries/Varials/Dagger Threat/No Face No Case – Haarlem, Patronaat – 16 April 2025

After delivering a truly blistering set supporting Spite recently, Boundaries are out on their own headline run for a big old stomp around the ÜK and Europe. After seeing them rip up various places around the ÜK and delivering probably more backflips than your average Olympic gymnastics highlights reel, this show marked the start of the halfway point on the first European date in Haarlem.

Delta Sleep/Real Terms – Haarlem, Patronaat – 10 April 2025

Delta Sleep play a huge role in how much Jase W fell in love with math and post rock bands, and even more so after they dropped their ‘Spring Island’ album back in 2021. That year earmarked a huge change in his music journey and saw ArcTanGent become a true favourite festival in the process due to how far down the rabbit hole of these styles he fell. He’s seen these guys do their thing quite a few times now so it was not likely he would pass off a chance to see them again and also get introduced to a band like Real Terms in the process.

Bilmuri/South Arcade – Manchester, 02 Ritz – 29 March 2025

After a day spent getting tattooed at Manchester’s Tattoo Tea Party and trying to get her girlfriend a last minute ticket to a very sold-out Bilmuri (and succeeding!); heading into the ritz tonight and grabbing a drink before the night started was very welcome. Hannah R had been dying to watch Bilmuri again after watching them support Sleep Token late last year, and it’s very cool to see that they’ve sold out their debut ÜK headline dates.
