Danish metallians Volbeat have announced that they have rescheduled their aborted Belfast show from earlier this month for next June.
And they have confirmed that those who purchased tickets for the original gig, at the city’s Ulster Hall on 3 October, will receive free replacements, after most ticket outlets automatically issued refunds.
As we reported at the time, Volbeat walked off stage halfway through ‘Pelvis On Fire’, the opening song of their set, returning ten minutes later only to almost immediately exit stage left once again. The band cited a combination of illness on the part of frontman Michael Poulsen and technical difficulties with their in-ear monitors.
The rescheduled show will take place on Tuesday 16 June, again at the Ulster Hall. In a statement published on their Facebook page earlier today, Volbeat said:
“Belfast! We would like to apologize again for the series of events that cumulated with us not being able to perform at Ulster Hall on October 3rd. We still want to give you all the proper Volbeat show that you deserve, so we will be coming back to Ulster Hall on June 16th to put on a free show for anyone who had tickets to the original show on October 3rd.
“If you had purchased tickets for the October 3rd show you will be contacted directly by your original point of purchase with instructions on how to redeem your free tickets to the show on June 16th. Please note that tickets will only be available online and not via phone or counter services. If you have not received your redemption instructions by Tuesday, October 22nd please contact [email protected]. If you have not yet received a refund for your original tickets, please contact your original point of purchase. Please note that this offer only available to original ticket purchasers and cannot be extended to tickets purchased on the secondary market.”
