The organizers of Rebellion have announced details of a huge new outdoor event which will run alongside the main festival next summer.

R-Fest will take place in a specially constructed 15,000 capacity arena slap bang in front of Blackpool Tower over the weekend of 4-7 August. Befitting an event of its size, it will feature some of the biggest names in the punk and alternative scenes, including The Levellers, The Wildhearts, The Stranglers, The Undertones, Gary Numan and Squeeze.

Organiser Jennie Russell-Smith told us:

“It has not been easy to pull all of these amazing bands together for four days, many bands are still rescheduling shows from 2020, but we are all incredibly excited for our first ever R-FEST line up; four days of bands in the incredible headland arena with the tower and the Wintergardens on one side and the Irish Sea on the other! It’s going to be amazing!!”

R-Fest will be a standalone, all ages event, with tickets costing £55 per day. However, Rebellion weekend or day ticket holders will get in free of charge.

Rebellion itself takes place at the nearby Winter Gardens and will feature the likes of Sham 69, Bad Religion, Circle Jerks, Cock Sparrer and Stiff Little Fingers over the course of the weekend. Tickets cost £95 per day or £195 for the weekend.
