It’s rapidly turning into a case of “guitar god” worship at this summer’s Steelhouse festival, with the news that Michael Schenker has been added to this year’s line-up.

The latest incarnation of the Michael Schenker Group, fronted by Rainbow singer Ronnie Romero, will be special guests on the Sunday evening. With Schenker being regarded as a justifiable headline attraction in his own right, it has fuelled speculation as to who will cap off proceedings on top of the mountain. It’s going to have to be someone fairly massive to top (sic) today’s announcement, that’s for sure…

Schenker joins a line-up of guitar heroes that already features Saturday night headliner Ace Frehley, Brian Tatler of Diamond Head and Steelhouse (and ÜR) fave Myke Gray. Adding to the line-up of quality axe slingers is the announcement that Cardinal Black, the new project featuring Chris Buck, will also be appearing over the weekend.

Also in today’s announcement are the additions of rising ÜK acts King Herd and Mother Vulture, who join possibly one of the most eclectic Steelhouse bills ever, alongside the likes of Orange Goblin, H.E.A.T, Green Lung, Inglorious, Scarlett Rebels, Black Spiders and more.

For the uninitiated, Steelhouse takes place at Hafod Y Dafal farm, outside Ebbw Vale, over the weekend of 29-31 July. Weekend and day tickets are on sale HERE.
