Clutch are a band that Phil C got hooked on when he first saw them supporting Motörhead back in 2006. Since then it feels as if everything has conspired to stop him from seeing them again. When he was informed that they would be playing just across the water from his home and, crucially, he was in the area, he was not going to be thwarted. This being the first of a four date UK run promises to be a night of big riffs and stamping rhythms with support from Graveyard and Kamchatka.

Attending this show, Jess R wasn’t sure of what to expect from Motionless In White’s stage show this time around, although it was bound to be impressive. Of Allies – ‘Are We Better Off?’ (Self-Released)

Jonni D reckons that Yorkshire lads Of Allies display some considerable melodic chops interspersed with accoutrements of alt metal bombast on their sophomore full-length.  The four-piece’s proclivity for combining the more ambient moments of Deaf Havana style indie radio rock, with hulking Deftones inspired interjections serves them well on ‘Are We Better Off?’, and is certainly a cut above the more generic drudgery more commonly found among their American counterparts.

Flying Colors – Shepherd’s Bush, O2 Empire – 14 December 2019

Flying Colors returned after a five year hiatus this year with their third studio album ‘Third Degree’, and as with their previous two tours, a relatively short tour of select dates across Europe, culminating in tonight’s sold out final show of the tour, the only UK date, which is being filmed and streamed live. With the stalls converted to all seated for this show, the capacity of the venue is therefore reduced, but every seat from bottom to the very top balcony is taken.
