So after nearly being caught in an absolutely biblical storm that delayed the trams and flooded the roads outside his apartment, Jase W turned up to Rebellion to see the single biggest queue he thinks he’s ever seen here! To say the venue was absolutely packed is genuinely selling it short by a massive margin, Rebellionwas bloody rammed! It was just Man With A Mission tonight, no support which just made this even more unbelievable. How this show didn’t get upgraded to a bigger venue is baffling…

The Beat with Dave Wakeling/Bow Wow Wow with Annabella – Bournemouth, O2 Academy – 14 June 2023

It was back to the early ‘80’s in Bournemouth this night as Dave Wakeling’s Beat hit the south coast as part of a pretty extensive ÜK tour featuring Annabella Lwin’s Bow Wow Wow as tour support. More than one version of both these bands does the rounds these days, but tonight it was the turn of both the original lead singer’s versions.

The Blackheart Orchestra/Audrey’s Dance/Foxpalmer – Salford, Sacred Trinity Church – 16 June 2023

Another scorching hot day beckons in a rather more tranquil gig for DJ Astrocreep, in the shape of The Blackheart Orchestra, with a couple of supports. The setting of an old chapel, still seemingly in use, made for incredible acoustics and hopefully harked at what should be a quite melodic and enjoyable gig. It has to be said, the chapel itself felt warmer inside than out and it also felt quite sacrilegious for the big lad to be ordering Dark Fruits cider when in there, but hey – that’s all part of the rock n roll!
