Chosen by Monk
These Belfast funk/grunge-infused alt-rockers first came to our attention last year when they came storming out of the left field of the local scene and surprisingly but deservedly bulldozed and bullied their way to the final of the annual Bloodstock 2 The Metal battle of the bands competition. Despite having got tanked at that final stage, the band have remained on our radar and now become the first band to be chosen as our #DailyPick for a record fourth time with this indication of a heavier new direction:
Vocalist Adam Mullan popped into ÜRHQ to tell us a bit more about the song and the band’s upcoming plans:
‘End Of You’ is about someone holding you back from moving on with your life. Its that you’ve been stuck in a toxic relationship and it’s a boiling point of anger giving the other person an ultimatum. Either change with me or this is the “end of you”.
The track was composed on the run up to Metal 2 The Masses 2024, as we needed to add a few more heavy songs to our roster. Out popped ‘End Of You’, a song that plays with compound time and a more industrial/grunge sound. Ultimately, it helped us get to the competition final.
Musically, we have just finished composing a new setlist with some killer tunes. Looking forward to exposing them to the world in the new year. [Our plan is] to return to the studio early 2026 and record these belters.
