The Uber Rock Approved stampThere’s definitely nothing #Pedestrian about this latest offering from this young Irish post-punk orchestra, who feature no fewer than a dozen members, including four guitarists, a violinist and a saxophonist, in an eclectic line-up that collectively delivers art-punk for art-punk’s sake.

Having set out to “make something that our fathers could identify with, but still hate like it was a young person’s thing,” Peer Pleasure find their sound by pulling on and smashing together everything from Mark E. Smith to The Birthday Party, Captain Beefheart to 80’s Matchbox B-Line Disaster and all while channelling their inner Engelbert Humperdinck to exorcise punk-fuelled lounge-lizard demons in a truly unique stream of consciousness style.

How many bands can compare the equestrian skills of Thom Yorke, Prince Philip, Idris Elba and Christopher Reeve all in a single lyric? Not many, that’s for sure…
