Music Venue Trust logoApplications are now open for Manchester’s new £245,000 Grassroots Music Venue Fund.

The Music Venue Trust is has encouraged venues to apply for the funding, which is backed by Manchester City Council and partially funded by the £1 ticket levy on arena and stadium shows. The Trust said that it is working with the Council to “get the money into venues’ hands as quickly as possible”.

This is a direct response to rising business rates and shrinking national relief. It’s a fast, targeted fix to stop vital venues being priced out of the city they helped put on the map.

With support from Manchester City Council, and based on recommendations from the upcoming Music In The City report, this fund backs the stages where music culture begins.

MVT is proud to be the delivery partner managing applications and payments to make sure support lands fast, direct, and where it’s most needed.

We hope that other councils can follow Manchester’s incredible lead.

Applications are now open with a deadline of Friday 28 November. Successful applicants will receive their payments by the end of January.
