Curated by Monk

So, we’re pounding and pummelling our way through another month of hard and heavy rock ‘n’ roll action, which sees us trawling our way through hundreds of quality new releases to bring you our latest pick of the hottest sounds that have been battering and tickling our eardrums over the past week. But, why waste inane and needless words… let’s dive straight into this week’s playlist, shall we?

Attic Theory ‘Savour The Moment’ (ThunderGun Records)

The Liverpool alt-groovers preface their appearance at the upcoming Planet RockStock with this first recording to feature new bassist Michael McCarroll, as they start work on the follow up to last year’s excellent debut album:

Avalanche ‘Down For The Count’ (Self-Released)

These Aussie retro rockers are an obvious fit for fellow countrymen Airbourne on next year’s road trip, before which they will be proving that they’re ‘Armed To The Teeth’ with the release of their debut album:

Bad Omens ‘Left For Good’ (Sumerian Records)

The band are closing out an epic year by kicking off the ÜK and Europe leg of their ‘Do You Feel Love?’ arena tour, hitting Glasgow tonight (Sunday 23 November) and pulling into Glasgow, Manchester, London and Nottingham over the course of the coming week, coinciding with the release of this, their fourth single of the year, and a hint that their next album is already at an advanced stage:

Converge ‘Love Is Not Enough’ (Epitaph Records)

The title track from the upcoming 11th album from the emocore progenitors, which is due to be released in mid-February:

Demons My Friends ‘Ghosts Of You’ (Ripple Music)

The Texan heavyweights are about to re-release their 2023 debut album on CD and vinyl, and mark the occasion by sharing one of the cornerstone tracks:

Melonball ‘Silence = Compliance’ (Thousand Islands Records/Rookie Records)

The politically charged German punks will be encouraging us to ‘Take Care’ to check out their sophomore album when it lands on our deathdecks at the end of February, and from which this is the first taster:

Mystery ‘My Own Eyes’ (Metalapolis Records)

The hard-rockin’ Aussie power trio have teamed up with Amaranthe’s Mikael Sehlin for this second sample of their upcoming new album, to which the finishing touches are being applied before being released in the Überverse early in 2026:

Oathbound ‘Searching For An Answer’ (Eclipse Records)

This Seattle progressive metalcore mob will be painting ‘Colors In Grey’ with their new album in March, with this being the first sample to be sent our way:

Quaint ‘Secrets’ (Self-Released)

This Glaswegian progressive alt-rock quartet won’t be #secrets for too much longer as they continue to build both momentum and profile, not to mention popularity, with this latest standalone release:

Rat Silo ‘Busted’ (SODEH Records)

Not a tribute to a certain pop punk band who have just sold out arenas across the Uber Kingdom, but rather an exploration of the cracks in modern society and the linchpin track on the Canadian post-punk quartet’s newly released latest EP, ‘1933’:

Rifle ‘No King’ (Year0001 Records)

This London combo drag gut-punch proto-punk through the byways of anarcho and ÜK pub rock on this, the lead single from their self-titled debut album, due mid-January:

Ritual Arcana ‘Subtle Fruits’ (Heavy Psych Sounds)

Not content with recently releasing a new solo album, the godfather of doom, Scott ‘Wino’ Weinrich is at the heart of this new power trio, which also features SharLee LuckyFree from Moth and Black Lips drummer Oakley Munson:

Second Harbour ‘Mourning Dove’ (SharpTone Records)

Things will ‘Coalesce‘ for this Canadian emo trio when they release their new EP next month, with this being the second sample to be served up to us:

Stoneman ‘Helene’ (Massacre Records)

The Swiss gothic shock rockers mark their 20th anniversary with this breathtakingly beautiful ballad that initially feels like the ultimate cuddle song… until you actually listen to the chorus:

Stone Nomads ‘Empires Of Stone’ (Ripple Music)

The Texan melodic sludge trio take us deep into the realm of their just-released third album with this, the title track:

TELL ‘Things To Do When Its Dark’ (Self-Released)

The Boston alt-rock fourpiece describe their music as “resistance rock”, with this being their latest modern-day protest song:

The Ineffectuals ‘National Tragedy’ (SODEH Records)

Delivering a sharp-edged indie/alt rock crossover sound that blends pop-punk grit with melodic hooks and a wicked sense of humour, this title track and lead single from their new album captures the absurdity, frustration, and dark comedy of living in a world that never stops spiralling:

Wildstreet ‘When It’s Gone’ (Self-Released)

And it’s almost gone for another week as we play out with first release from the Noo Yawk street vets and hair metal revivalists’ new look line-up, which is also a writing collab with Todd Long from Club regulars Ghosts Of Sundet:

So, there you have it, our latest dynamic and eclectic selection, ranging from politically charged proto-punk to metalcore and touching almost every base in between. Hopefully we’ve opened your ears to some new sounds, and pointed you in the direction of some fine tuneage to kick your new rock ‘n’ roll week off in style… Until next time, remember: keep ‘er lit, keep ‘er between the hedges and keep on Über Rockin’ in the free world \m/
