My latest selection sees us mixing ‘Oil & Water’ courtesy of this vibrant and melodic latest cut from the dynamic PVRIS.
The artist – real name Lyndsey Gunnulfsen – describes the single as an ode to the relationships that test the waters of our deepest desires and the lengths we’ll go to see love succeed, as she herself elaborated, as she also gave some insight into the song’s gestation:
“he song is about the push and pull of mismatched love and the lengths you’d go to make it work. I wrote this while we were on tour with Poppy in the US. I rented a house (which may have been haunted) in Kansas City on two of our off-days and wrote/recorded the music, verse and pre-chorus there… Finished the chorus and rest of the song in LA with Kanner. Finished producing and finalized the track in Northern California in Nevada City.
PVRIS plays four dates in the ÜK next month: the O2 Victoria Warehouse on Sunday 12 May, the O2 Academy in Glasgow on Monday 13 May, the O2 Academy in Birmingham on Wednesday 15 May and the Troxy in London on Thursday 16 May. Tickets are on sale now.
