These German melodeath dealers returned to action at the beginning of December with the release of the title track from their upcoming second album, which in itself has taken them more than seven years to record and release, with their debut offering having been released back in May 2018.
Now, they have presented us with the second taster of said long-overdue sophomorer opus:
Speaking about the single, the band informed me:
‘In Truth Divided’ tells of the disintegration of shared reality – when convictions become walls and truth becomes a weapon.
The song shows how easily people take refuge in certainty and lose understanding in the process. Musically aggressive and melancholic at the same time, it builds bridges between anger and insight.
A piece about division, self-deception – and the courage to seek one’s own truth nonetheless.
And on the subject of the album, ‘Chasing Utopia’, which is due for release on 6 March, they say:
Between hope and doom, between salvation and deception – [it] tells of a world that has lost itself. A world in which meaning has become a commodity – and truth a tool of those who know how to sell it …
[It] is a manifesto of the relentless pursuit of perfection in an imperfect world.
