‘Heavy Metal Is Not For Sale’ is a rather apt title for the new album from Spanish trad metallers 1945 – something which they exemplify in this six-song video, recorded at the height of the country’s second lockdown and associated ban on “festivities”, but done so with the full co-operation of the local authorities.

The set was recorded, without an audience, at the beginning of last month in the courtyard of Salamanca’s CAEM, or Centre for Performing Arts and Music. While it does lack the latent energy of a “proper” live show and the all-important audience interaction, it nevertheless is a strong and determined performance, with the band giving it 100 per cent, thus confidently showcasing their skills, commitment and charisma, and is a tasty appetiser for the aforementioned new album.

Now fully edited, the six-song set, which was live streamed at the time as part of the municipal authority’s bid to try to keep live music alive in one shape or form, has just been made available to stream:
