Artwork for Gods Of Dimension by Circle 60Featuring thirteen tracks of future-drenched psychedelic sci-fi laden punk-rock n’ roll, following on from their debut ‘SawnOff Shotgold’ five years ago, Circle 60 take off once more with their new opus ‘Gods Of Dimension’.

And what a rocket ride this is – a scintillating journey of psychedelia, punk rock and groovy garage rock from start to finish, augmented with space-age themes and effects.

The likes of ‘Upside Down Mountain Cloud’, with its lush almost Beach Boys-esque backing harmonies, ‘The Sonic Invisible’ and ‘Astral Planes’ are quality slices of up-tempo psych/punk fusion superbly catchy and superbly written with a confident swagger.

‘She Got Bored’ is a super-charged fast punky affair sounding a bit like a combination of early Damned and Stooges, and talking of The Damned, Captain Sensible pops up with some groovy guitar licks on the also Stooges-esque ‘Mother Laudanum’.

Elsewhere, the outstanding title track ‘Gods Of Dimension’ slows things down and gets extra psychedelic with a grinding, epic-sounding psych/blues vibe with a vocal delivery not too far away from John Lennon. Indeed, the heavy psych of previous Singles Club selection ‘Along The Way’ and ‘Martian Surprise’ have a similarly Beatlesy vocal delivery too.

‘Man Vs Machine’ adds another dimension to the album with a totally groovy, organ-infused 60’s garage instrumental guaranteed to get your toes tapping at the bare minimum, and ‘In The Bubble’ closes the album with another quality and groovy slice of heavy garage rock.

Largely rooted in the sounds of the ’60s yet somehow sounding contemporary and original at the same time, ‘Gods Of Dimension’ is a stonking album from start to finish, brimming with energy, well-crafted songs and top notch performances (check out the Entwistle-meets-Lemmy bass work here!).

If you’re into psych rock, garage rock, punk rock or even space rock, this is one album you have to check out.
