Pythia – ‘The Solace Of Ancient Earth’ (Golden Axe)

Pythia is a band that ÜR’s latest recruit, John Bedard, heard of before but never really had the chance to listen to until now. With symphonic metal having started his whole journey into metal in the first place, he was very excited to hear a band he had not before. And he reckons that, if you like symphonic metal already you will not be disappointed in this album, as it is a solid entry in the genre, but it is not world-changing either.

Through The Noise – ‘Dualism’ (Eclipse)

In the run-up to the release of Through The Noise’s second full-length, there was recurring chatter regarding how this album would reflect a notable nü metal influence, particularly when compared to their debut album.  Although there are significant grooves that undulate beneath the surface on tracks such as ‘Digital Playground’ and ‘House of Asterion’, this claim seems to have been a tad overstated.
