Jase W’s hype levels were set at absolute maximum for tonight’s show. He cannot overstate how much he not only loves SikTh but also tonight’s support act, Palm Reader. SikTh are a band that,alongside Meshuggah, essentially wrote the rule book for modern progressive metal so not only getting to see them, but also as the original line-up is incredible in its own right.

With a career that spans bands like The Scream, Motley Crue, Ratt and latterly The Dead Daisies it was no surprise to find a sold out show at The Patriot. Several shows by Marco Mendoza here may have swung the decision for John Corabi to try it out as part of his one man show tour.

The first gig of Joanne Shaw Taylor’s tour saw her roll in to the Tramsheds in Cardiff. David O’Neill was a bit surprised that it was an all seated event, unusual for the venue in his times there. However, it did make it much more civilized, even if the capacity was reduced by about 60 per cent.

Satan’s Hollow is definitely one of the more bizarre places in Manchester for a show but Jase W is not one to spurn a venue, especially when a band like Poly-Math is on. For tonight’s show they’ve got bands our resident gigaholic knows quite well in support, local act Civil Service and local-ish act Archetype.

Electric Callboy are a group that’s gone from relatively small to selling out some of the most premier venues in the ÜK almost overnight thanks to the unbelievable success of their singles leading up to current album ‘Tekkno’. To say Jase W had been excited for this show is a bit of an understatement; what was already a pretty awesome set at Slam Dunk this year was but a small taste of the set length that they were due to play tonight.
