Vinnie Stigma is a name synonymous with the New York Hardcore scene, whether it be through his 3 decades playing guitar in scene godfathers Agnostic Front, his role in the formative years of Madball’s career along with Roger Miret and Will Shepler, his NYHC tattoo parlour, or perhaps most recently his solo project Stigma and subsequent film career, the man really is what you would call a true leader within the punk rock movement, and we love leaders here at Uber Rock.

So with this in mind it was something of a humbling experience when long time Agnostic Front fan Darrel Sutton caught up with Vinnie recently for a cappuccino and a chat at Bristol’s normally quite exclusive Glassboat restaurant ahead of the band’s show at The Fleece later that same night.  Over the course of a quite relaxed yet always intense half and hour they got to talk about Stigma’s New York heritage, what it means to be true to your punk rock roots when you’ve been in a band for 3 decades, plus an exclusive red hot tip for cooking great meatballs courtesy of the late yet great Johnny Thunders.
