The Uber Rock Approved stampSo, here we are, batterin’ and breezin’, poundin’ ‘n’ pummellin’, stompin’ ‘n’ strollin’ our way to the down ‘n’ dirty end of another busy rockin’ ‘n’ rollin’ month here in the Überverse… We’ve the death decks fully cranked up, and the amps set so loud that the Trumpinator is threatening to declare them a weapon of mass distraction and launch a tactical strike on the dank back alleys of Belfast… but, we know he secretly struts around the Oval Office in his tightest orange spandex, bangin’ along to each and every playlist, so we invite you to join him (and us), grab a chilled beer or three, turn your woofers and tweeters up to neighbour-enlightening volume, settle into your favourite studded leather armchair and enjoy our latest selection of the hottest aural delights to have come our way over the past seven days:

Downturn ‘Yoof’ (Self-Released)

We kick off this week’s playlist with this slice of melodic hardcore/post-metal from a young quartet about whom we know very little else other than the fact they have provided us with a very stylish way to kick off proceedings:

Harsh ‘Forever Yesterday’ (Fireflash Records)

We end the month where we started it, with these Parisian retro-activists turning the hands of time with this latest sample of their upcoming second album, which will seem them deliver some serious ‘Feels‘ at the beginning of July:

Indigø ‘River’ (Self-Released)

The Geordie quartet take metaphorical inspiration from the waterway that is the lifeblood of their home city on this second release, and the latest taster of their upcoming debut EP, which will be released ahead of a ÜK tour later in the year:

Indominus ‘Black Lake’ (Self-Released)

The Belfast death dealers have been teasing this release for months now and it finally sees the dark light of day in suitably slamming fashion:

Reclus.É ‘A Muted TV’/’Roads’ (Rise/BMG)

This debut collab between the multi-talented Daniel P Carter and Tummyache frontman Soren Bryce announce themselves with this double A-sider, with the second track being a cover of the Portishead deep cut, ahead of back-to-back support slots with A Perfect Circle this coming week, followed by appearances at the Outbreak and 2000Trees festivals:

Ruled By Raptors ‘Sleep Dep.’ (Self-Released)

After something of an (enforced) extended hiatus, the post-metalcore mobsters return with the first taste of their upcoming new eight-track (no, not in that sense) mini-album, which they will release at the beginning of October:

Sailor Honeymoon ‘Pickle’ (Self-Released)

The second single to be released in the West by this rising existential Korean garage-punk trio:

Scampi Chips Dip & Campari ‘Floorfiller Miss’ (SODEH Records)

The Norwegian garage punk quartet with one of THE most deliciously silly names in rock ‘n’f’n’ roll deliver another lipstick-covered killer kiss as thety drop the third taster (sic) from their upcoming debut album, which itself has been 19 years in the cooking:

Stone Nomads ‘The IVth Crusade’ (Ripple Music)

The latest ride into glory (sic) from the recently released third album by the Texan melodic doom/sludge trio:

Sugarcane Hangover ‘That Kind Of Girl’ (SODEH Records)

The Norwegian glunk outlaws have one foot in the gutter and a cocktail in one hand as they deliver another slice of gritty, sleazy bar-room boogie:

Veins ‘I Keep Falling’ (Self-Released)

The Midlands alt/post-rock trio offer up the final taster course from their upcoming debut album, which will see them unveiling ‘A New Forever‘ this coming week:

Vulgarithm ‘Regret Nothing’ (Self-Released)

We finish off with a slice of “riff rave” as this one-man electro-metal prodigy (sic) sums up our own attitude to what we do with this latest sample of his recently released debut album:

So, there you have it, our latest selections to both kick off a new rockin’ ‘n’ rollin’ week and end yet another rockin’ ‘n’ rolling month in… well, rockin’ ‘n’ rollin’ style. We’ll be back same time, same place next week kickin’ off another month with another jaunty selection of the finest tunes which will have been embracing our eardrums in the intervening period. And don’t forget to check out our daily picks as well… In the meantime, keep ‘er lit, keep ‘er between the hedges and keep on Über Röckin’ in the free world \m/
