This is something of a bitter sweet release for this Aussie/German hard rockin’ crüe, as it is dedicated to singer Brad Marr’s mother, Debbie, who tragically passed earlier this week after a short but hard fought battle with cancer.
In a cruel case of life imitating art, the video clip, which features Brad in a hospital while the band watch over him, was filmed just one week before his mother was diagnosed.
Marr, who will be familiar to long-term ÜR readers as the frontman with Massive, told
My mum was always my biggest fan. We filmed this clip and then my mum called with the news she was sick. I immediately flew to Australia. When I was there, she wanted to listen to the album and give her honest review as she always has.
‘I Remember You’ was her favourite song.
I never showed her the video clip but I promised to dedicate the song to her. I am heartbroken and still in shock as we release this song. I love you mum.
- Sweet Electric’s debut album, ‘Something Something Disco‘, will be released on Friday 10 September. They will play Nozfest in Southampton on 15 August and then support The Lazys at the end of September and Hayseed Dixie throughout October.
