Black Star Riders frontman Ricky Warwick just loves his hometown shows. He’ll find virtually any excuse to pop home to his native Belfast, plug in his guitar and play a few tunes. This past weekend, in advance of the band’s headline appearance at Hard Rock Hell and accompanying tour dates, he did just that, performing an acoustic show with bandmate Damon Johnson at the city’s historic Limelight venue.

We caught up with him beforehand for a quick update on what is going down in the BSR camp, the possibility of not only a new solo album but also a joint Warwick/Johnson one, his special relationship with his guitarist, how family is important to him and how he just generally likes to keep busy:

Black Star Riders headline the sold-out Hard Rock Hell XI tonight (Saturday 11 November) and then play the following dates (with Blues Pills, Tax The Heat and Dirty Thrills):

Sunday 12 – Hull, University

Tuesday 14 – Middlesbrough, Empire

Wednesday 15 – Sheffield, O2 Academy

Thursday 16 – Leicester, O2 Academy

Saturday 18 – Cambridge, Junction

Sunday 19 – Portsmouth, Pyramids
