Alec John Such, a founder member of US superstars Bon Jovi, has died of a heart attack at the age of 70.

Although Such had left the band in 1994, just 11 years into their career, the remaining members said they were “heartbroken” by the death of their “dear friend”.

A childhood friend of drummer Tico Torres, Such was instrumental in introducing former guitarist Richie Sambora to the band. He played on Bon Jovi’s first five albums before his departure.
