Just in case some people still don’t know……. my first greatest band in the world have reunited!!!!! Hell yes!!! They just played a show last week in New York City and are about to make their official reunion performance on Saturday 26th of June in a festival in Spain.

I can’t wait for that day but in the meantime I asked Guy a few questions to find out how it was and how’s it gonna be and as usual he, being the absolutely fucking brilliant and awesome Guy that he is, answered them. This was a really awful moment for me too, as he also nicely turned down my formal proposition to marry him, but I think I will be able to move on after some therapy and a few martinis.

Hi Guy, tell me a bit about playing live last week in NYC, how was it, after these years, to be the Toilet Boys again?

We played one show last week and it was a total blast! We had the best time. Great crowd, very enthusiastic and really made us feel good.

Did you feel the same?

It kind of felt like no time had passed and I think Sean and I really fell right back into our performance mode with each other. I think we all really clicked as a band that night which was what I really wanted to happen before we play Azkena. It was the most fun I’ve ever had1atoiletboysbecause now I just go into a show with that attitude of having fun no matter what, whereas before I used to really panic. And I think it’s the absolute best we’ve ever sounded.
…And you’re just doing it for the money, right…?

Well, the show we did last week was a “dress rehearsal” so we didn’t do it for money. It was a free, invitation only show.

Who is the new guitarist, Shane? How did you find him?

He’s Sean’s best friend since childhood. He’s an amazing guitarist and singer, so it was a no-brainer when we decided to get a new guitarist.

What’s the best part of going to play in Spain at that festival with Kiss, Bob Dylan, etc. etc. etc.?

For me, the best part is playing with Sean, Eddie and Adam again in a country we always loved playing. I’m really excited to see The Hives again, they’re so fun live. Sorry that I’m missing Kitty, Daisy & Lewis though. It’s an honor to be on the same bill as KISS and Bob Dylan of course.
How is it gonna be? Give us a spoiler, we want it!

We’re playing several songs that we haven’t done in a long time, at least not on our tour in 2003. And my new costume is really incredible.

Can we expect to have you guys play some other shows anywhere in Europe soon? Will you play in Paris, or London? I wanna see you in Paris, and in London too!!

We want to play those cities again, for sure. I’d like to do some European dates in the next 6-3atoiletboys12 months.

And in the US?

New York in the fall. Los Angeles and San Fransisco in late fall or early winter. We’ll go wherever we’re wanted as long as someone pays us well. Haha!

Is this a comeback that’ll come with a brand new Toilet Boys record too?

I’d like to write and record a new record. I’m pretty sure we will. I also have a couple solo songs that I think would be great Toilet Boys songs.

Are you bringing your dog Monkey with you to Europe or is he gonna stay home alone, Guy?

Monkey’s in Texas with Lyle.

And finally, I must pop the question – will you marry me already, Guy???

How do you know I’m not already married sweetheart? Haha!  (Oh but I don’t mind! I am married too! Let’s break the law and be bigamous!!!)

Thanks Miss Guy, we totally adore you!!!

Thanks Raquel!  I adore you too!

Remember, the Toilet Boys live, for the first time ever (…..after 7 years)!!!! Just for you all, Saturday in Spain motherfuckers! So move your asses down to the country where miracles happen! And I don’t mean Mexico, this is actual Spain you morons, Spain, Europe!  Have a look at the map! Woohooo!!
