Anyone that knows me even closely, has probably heard me talking about TechFest numerous times and knows that it’s a festival that I’ve come to love dearly over the last few years due to the people that run it, and the die-hard fans around it.

So the post-festival season blues can’t last too long can they? Not when TechFest decided to stick on a full weekend show at the Hairy Dog in Derby!

Two full days of some of the best grassroots progressive and meaty metal that are currently on the circuit at the moment!

To say I’m excited about some of the bands on this line-up is a complete understatement!

From the video-game meets rush inspired stuff of Lost In Lavender Town to the grime metalcore of Borders and all the way to angry bastards PULSE, we’ve got a real superb line-up here that’s quite literally come out of nowhere!

It’s not the first Techabilitation event here but it is however the first full weekend of it, so get yourself a hotel, get down to Derby on 19 and 20 November and go mental in the pit, it’s sure to be a great weekend!

On a more sombre note, a well known member of the TechFest community passed away recently, Ben Radcliffe. While I didn’t know him very well personally I did have the pleasure of chatting with him a bunch and it’s a big loss to the community.

The full times for each day are below:

Saturday:

  • 10:00pm Borders
  • 8:30pm Cage Fight
  • 7:30pm Hundred Year Old Man
  • 6:30pm Tiberius
  • 5:30pm Azure
  • 4:30pm Milk & Two Shuggahs (The UK’s only Meshuggah cover band!)
  • 3:30pm From Her Ashes
  • 2:30pm Lost In Lavender Town
  • 1:30pm To Obey A Tyrant
  • 12:30pm Arwassa

Sunday:

  • 10:00pm Seething Akira
  • 8:30pm Godeater
  • 7:30pm Creak
  • 6:30pm Pravitas
  • 5:30pm Pulse
  • 4:30pm From Eden To Exile
  • 3:30pm Only The Righteous
  • 2:30pm Akkadian
  • 1:30pm Cavekiller
  • 12:30pm Gaia

£20 is an absolute steal for a weekend like this, you’d be mad to miss it!

See you in the pit \m/
