ArcTanGent 2026 is coming out swinging with another massive load of additions to its line-up that makes a weird music listener like myself stare in absolute amazement at the sheer number of bands I want to see.
I don’t doubt I’m going to have to make some tough choices on clashes this year but there’s some absolute must-see bands on it this year, notably the previously announced return of Arcane Roots.
Some of the other personal stand-outs for me are bizarre sax slam poetry crossover act Maruja, cinematic post-rock duo Nordic Giants, the metal and Amiga keygen music worship of Master Boot Record and London proggy outfit You Win Again Gravity.
They are joined in the latest announcement by ÜS shoe-gazers Nothing, Faroesean singer songwriter Eivør as a ÜK 2026 exclusive, the rock and roll gentleman and scholar Jamie Lenman, visceral London mathcore mob Pupil Slicer and Brazilian avant-garde metallers Papanugu.
It’s shaping up to be a super strong year for ArcTanGent for this edition and probably one of the few times where I will have gone to a festival recently where I will have wanted to see every single main headliner too. Lovely stuff.
- ArcTanGent will take place at Fernhill Farm outside Bristol over the weekend of 19 – 22 August.
